There was a rainbow photo backdrop for residents to capture memories with family and friends, plenty of fancy dress in the form of Dorothy and the Wicked Witch of the West, while resident Gail Ashworth took on the role of the Tin Man and the care team dressed up as Munchkins.<\/p>\n
Entertainment\u00a0included jazz singer Katie Francesca and in attendance was the Mayor of Romsey.\u00a0<\/p>\n
One of the most important moments of the day were presentations of engraved gifts, as a special recognition to the longest-serving resident, Joan Norman, and three of the original members of staff.<\/p>\n
Head Housekeeper Lisa Mills, Housekeeper Angie Maule and Maintenance Manager Colin Penny, are all celebrating ten years of dedicated service at the village.<\/p>\n
As a gesture to mark this special anniversary, the team also preserved the day\u2019s festivities for posterity, taking photographs to be placed in a time capsule \u2013 to truly capture history in the making.<\/p>\n
Grove Place\u2019s General Manager, David Knight said, \u201cWe\u2019ve really been looking forward to the 10th anniversary garden party and have spent some time planning a fitting tribute and a truly stand-out event.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s also important to acknowledge the staff who have been here from the very beginning, who do so much to make Grove Place the outstanding retirement village that it is\u201d.<\/p>\n
Echoing the words of Dorothy who famously said \u2018there\u2019s no place like home\u2019, resident\u00a0Peggy Bigglestone said of Grove Place \u201cOnce you see it, that\u2019s it. It\u2019s just home\u201d. \u00a0<\/p>\n
