The Elysian library at The Landsby in Stanmore marks the first time that Foyles has curated a private library in partnership with a residential developer<\/h3>\n

The Landsby is one of two stylish villages in the capital, operated by Elysian Residences, designed for retirees. It provides a unique combination of 101 beautiful apartments, five-star-hotel-style amenities, outstanding service, healthcare and support, and a unique library curated by the bookseller Foyles.<\/p>\n

Designed by leading London architect Collado Collins, the Landsby\u2019s architectural style deliberately references the Art Deco period seen in the local area and provides one-and two-bedroom private apartments including 10 penthouses set within leafy surroundings.<\/p>\n

Features include the entrance canopy and foyer, feature brickwork, curved walls, polished pillars, large windows and generous covered balconies.<\/p>\n

The grand double height entrance lobby and new library span the entire depth of the Landsby with the library finished in beautiful American Walnut wood.<\/p>\n

The Foyles library, opened by the broadcaster Sir Trevor McDonald, offers a number of sections covering biographies, novels, classics, gardens, travel, sports and children\u2019s books for the homeowners\u2019 children.<\/p>\n

It is a \u2018living library\u2019, of over 750 books, which will be updated according to the interests of the homeowners who can order new books from Foyles via the Landsby\u2019s concierge.<\/p>\n

Homeowners will be also able to browse and read books in the spacious library or adjoining bar, or in the privacy of their home.<\/p>\n

Libraries are an important cornerstone of a vibrant community<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Homeowners can also benefit from Foyles\u2019 order-on-request service providing access to specialist foreign language books; music recordings; and DVDs.<\/p>\n

At the launch Elysian directors and guests, homeowners and Foyles staff joined Sir Trevor McDonald who highlighted the importance of libraries in today\u2019s modern age and spoke about his inspirational life about which he has documented in his new autobiography, An Improbable Life<\/em>, a copy of which was added to the Elysian library.<\/p>\n

Elysian Residences\u00a0Chief Executive Officer, Gavin Stein, said: \u201cLibraries are an important cornerstone of a vibrant community, offering visitors a place of relaxation, learning and discovery. The new Elysian library, curated by renowned bookseller Foyles, is part of our approach to provide our homeowners with their own luxury home with everything on hand to enjoy an active and enriched lifestyle. With the library, a restaurant, bar, gym and health club on the doorstep customers can live life on their own terms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The lobby and library open into the bar and there is also the full-service restaurant Benjamin\u2019s which offers a brasserie style menu and a private dining room which can be booked for dinner parties and celebrations.<\/p>\n

The community events space will provide an array of activities for homeowners, from lectures to bridge nights to Zumba classes.<\/p>\n

There is also a beauty salon and treatment room area, with hairdressing and beauty treatments on offer. The sixth floor of the\u00a0Landsby\u00a0houses the luxury rooftop gymnasium,\u00a0Prime Fit.<\/p>\n

During the design process, extensive customer research was undertaken by Elysian Residences in order to understand customers\u2019 needs and preferences.<\/p>\n

This has resulted in over 44 different apartment designs ensuring the customer options and choices that meet their requirements, delivering a variety of unique homes and most importantly providing exceptional living spaces.<\/p>\n

Each bespoke apartment provides a state-of-the-art specification and high-quality finishes including Miele and Siemens appliances, Hansgrohe and Duravit bathrooms and timber tongue and groove flooring.<\/p>\n

The private apartments at the Landsby range in size from 620 sq. ft. to 725 sq. ft. for a one-bedroom apartment, and 900 sq. ft. to 1,700 sq. ft. for a two-bedroom apartment.<\/p>\n

There are also ten penthouses on the two uppermost floors.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Landsby\u00a0is also ideally located thanks to its excellent transport links, with Stanmore Underground Station just a short walk away, providing access to the West End and the City via the Jubilee line.<\/p>\n

There are also a number of bus routes with buses travelling to a number of areas including Brent Cross shopping centre, Stanmore Country Park and the historic Bentley Priory.<\/p>\n
