{"id":46713,"date":"2021-04-06T19:15:10","date_gmt":"2021-04-06T18:15:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/?p=46713"},"modified":"2023-01-03T15:37:19","modified_gmt":"2023-01-03T15:37:19","slug":"gorgeous-gifts-for-loved-ones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/gorgeous-gifts-for-loved-ones\/","title":{"rendered":"Gorgeous gifts for loved ones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section fb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.8&#8243;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.9.3&#8243;]<\/p>\n<h3>A talented design duo have teamed up to create\u00a0the UK&#8217;s first luxury and bespoke gift brand for older people<\/h3>\n<p>Andrew Downs and Arabella Wilde got together last year inspired by Andrew&#8217;s experience of moving his mother in to live with him during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Andrew&#8217;s efforts to look for advice and tools to help Sheila, 85, who has vascular dementia, adjust to a new home and surroundings drew a blank as did finding quality products geared to engage people like her with memory issues.<\/p>\n<p>So he and his colleague Arabella set about designing some of their own.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_47516\" style=\"width: 994px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/?attachment_id=47516\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-47516\" class=\"wp-image-47516 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image011-984x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"984\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image011-984x1024.jpg 984w, http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image011-980x1020.jpg 980w, http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image011-480x500.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 984px, 100vw\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-47516\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sheila Downs<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Helping Sheila keep her past alive and enrich her present life they created a Memory Board which led to the development of <a href=\"http:\/\/editedphotos.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">editedphotos.co.uk.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They have now designed several items such as jigsaws, memory care boards and memory books \u2013 all made from treasured photographs.<\/p>\n<p>The focus of each product is to keep loved ones&#8217; memories alive and conversation flowing.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Using a carefully curated selection of up to 20 photos and captions, the idea behind the memory board is not only as a reminder of a life well lived and a memory jogger, but it also works as a conversation starter and helps carers and staff at retirement schemes see the person as they were,&#8221; Arabella explains.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The pictures are printed onto vinyl and then bonded onto 5mm foam core, so the product is strong and lightweight which means they are easy to move and hold.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>They also produce a 17cm square Memory Book, which is small enough to be carried around.<\/p>\n<p>Containing 20 photos, the books make a great conversation piece, and include captions with each photo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/?attachment_id=47518\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-47518 alignleft \" src=\"http:\/\/newclone.retiremove.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/image005-e1617715677364-1024x707.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"624\" height=\"431\" \/><\/a>Another product is a 96-piece jigsaw puzzle made from one photograph and a caption.<\/p>\n<p>There is also a photo box which can comprise up to 25 photos.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Each one has a caption on the reverse to aid conversation, and as they are laminated, they are pretty indestructible and easy to keep clean,&#8221; explains Arabella.<\/p>\n<p>Edited Photos have also created a set of four door signs to help identify key rooms, each printed onto vinyl and beautifully packaged in a cotton drawstring bag.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We aim to make the ordering process as painless as possible and pride ourselves on being available for any questions and guidance throughout the entire process,&#8221; adds Arabella.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ours is a bespoke service and therefore there is always a certain amount of flexibility within our products.
