Homeowner Joyce, who moved to Adlington’s community, The Chimes near Stockport, four years ago, immediately felt at home:<\/p>\n

The first thing my son said when he came was that it\u2019s just like a five-star hotel, and my daughter said the same.<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s lovely! The staff are all really polite, helpful and genuine. I wish that I\u2019d visited a retirement community five years earlier. I think if I\u2019d have known how good life can be, I\u2019d have moved years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n

Margaret, who moved to another Adlington community in January 2022 said: \u201cWe have much more time available to do the things that we want to do because we no longer have to worry about the upkeep of a big house and garden.<\/p>\n
\u201cI enjoy walking, and belong to the walking club. I\u2019m also a founder member of the gardening club. I do yoga on Wednesday mornings and Pilates on Monday mornings.<\/p>\n
“I have friends who come regularly to visit and play bridge. It\u2019s nice to be able to offer them a coffee in the lounge and I enjoy baking, so I often provide tea and cake in my apartment.<\/p>\n
\u201cI thought I was happy where I used to live, but I\u2019m so much happier here.<\/p>\n
“There\u2019s always the possibility of company and I\u2019m a very gregarious person. I settled in like a flash. I never gave a nostalgic thought to the house I left.\u201d<\/p>\n
