\u200bCirencester’s new retirement complex, Siddington Park, has just held the grand opening of the first \u2018Bark Park’<\/h3>\n

The Bark Park is an enclosed interactive dog park, situated in the heart of the retirement village operated by Rangeford Villages in Gloucestershire.<\/p>\n

The Bark Park is in a mature woodland area providing shade on hot days, as well as a dog agility area, a \u2018Paws for Thought’ bench for owners, an eco-friendly septic tank poop disposal system, a grooming table and water points for thirsty pups.<\/p>\n

The Bark Park is also covered in tree-bark chippings so it doesn’t get water sodden and muddy on wet days. There are also caf\u00e9-style lights hanging around the outside so it can be used on winter evenings.<\/p>\n

Everything in the Bark Park has been made from recycled materials, and was created by Rangeford Villages’ multi award-winning landscape designers, Chris and Ricky Liversidge.<\/p>\n

The Grand Opening was hosted by Rangeford Villages’ CEO Howard Nankivell, with residents and staff from Siddington Park invited with their canine chums.<\/p>\n

Siddington Park homeowner Roy Chambers often visits the Bark Park with his schnauzer Lexi. “It’s a great area and really good for dogs to use up some energy without having to go on a long walk on a miserable day.” he says.<\/p>\n

Siddington Park’s Village Manager, Will Ryan added: “The evidence of the positive health impact of owning pets is well known.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Especially during retirement, pets can help to prevent feelings of isolation and loneliness but also provide that important motivation to complete daily activities.<\/p>\n

“Our new Bark Park offers our dog owners a wonderful new space to socialise in.”<\/p>\n
